open daily 8:00 a.m. to midnight

Meredith, New Hampshire is a very unique community that is situated in the foothills of the White Mountains. We have approximately 100 miles of paved roads and many miles of unpaved roads that we patrol.

Our area of coverage is approximately 50 square miles, and within this area we have approximately 14 square miles of lakes. We have five lakes located within our jurisdiction; Lakes Winnipesaukee, Pemigewasset, Waukewan, Wicwas, and Winnisquam.

During our peak summer season, we maintain a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee to respond to emergencies. On our smaller lakes we rely on local residents to aid us in responding to water emergencies. We have two public boat launch areas for our residents and guests to use for putting their boats in Lake Winnipesaukee.

Any questions regarding services rendered can be made by calling the Meredith Police Department at 603-279-4561. This is our main line, and it will also receive emergency calls between 8:00 a.m. and midnight. From midnight to 8:00 a.m., dial "911" for all emergency calls, and response will be dispatched by the Belknap County Sherriff’s Department.

We are proud of our community and we welcome visitors; all we ask is that you enjoy the sights and attractions as much as we do. We hope you use our facilities, shop in our local businesses, and obey our laws.

Thank you for visiting our web site, and please feel free to call or email us to assist you with any and all questions.

EMERGENCY CONTACT/SECURITY INFORMATION FORM

The Meredith Police Department requests that all local businesses fill out an Emergency Contact/Security Information Form and have it on file at the Police Department. This will provide the information necessary to ensure a safe and timely response by the Police Department in the event of an emergency involving their premises.
