Meet at 9 am in the Jenness Hill Road parking lot

Come learn about a relatively new town forest in Meredith across from the Meredith Community Center. This natural history is suitable for naturalists of all ages and expertise and will mostly involve a slow, off-trail ramble through picturesque woods. The focus will be on the land use and ecological history, although it is also the peak time of year for mushrooms, selected rare plants, migrating shorebirds, and terrestrial invertebrates.

Saturday, October 12th

PP&F walk led by Dr. Rick Van de Poll

Mushrooms of Page Pond and Sherman Easement, Meredith

Meet at 9 am in the Quarry Road parking lot

This walk will cover an easy ramble along the west part of the Town of Meredith’s Page Pond property on Meredith Neck, along with a visit to the newly conserved Sherman property easement next door. We will take advantage of some new trails and bridges put in by the Meredith Conservation Commission to look at the area's mushrooms and other fungi. You don't need to be a mycologist to attend - all ages are welcome! Sponsored by the Meredith Conservation Commission, this walk is free and open to the public and will run from 9 am to 12 pm
